Ethical Fashion Brazil at LATAM Summit, Mexico
[Diary] Meeting to promote peace and local initiatives reunited young adults from Latin America
At the end of 2016, I went to a three-days meditation retreat in Cuernavaca, Mexico. The meeting was sponsored by the NGO World Peace Initiative and reunited young adults from different countries in Latin America.
By that time, I was re-launching Ethical Fashion Brazil (I had lost five years of content in 2015), did a new logo, got a new server. I had only a mock-up of the website, just the homepage with a woman showing her back tattooed with Phoenix. I didn’t have enough content.
However, the show must go on.
I printed new business cards, got some bracelets to donate, got my samples of Amazonian rubber, and took a flight to Peru, then San Salvador, and finally to Mexico City. I remember the trip very well because I was working on the website at the airports.
Once there in Cuernavaca, I realized that the fair was only for the people part of the NGO, who was not exactly my target. This made me think about my effort. But it’s ok, I was travelling the world, getting to know different cultures, learning about myself and the others. It was a beautiful moment in life, that I am forever thankful to Peace Revolution and the Thai monks. I could talk to one of my favorite monks, LP Pasura, on my birthday. At the end, I think that the website was an excuse to discover new people, new lands.
By the way, the meditation retreat, the classes, the knowledge was incredible as always (I have been other four times to Thailand, to learn from the same teaching monks, from 2014 to 2020). Their lessons changed my way of thinking-feeling the world forever. That’s life! The goal is the journey.
