III International Congress on Sustainability in Textile and Fashion
The event will go online from 10 to 12 August 2022, with the theme “The practices of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Textile Chain and in the Fashion Industry”

With the theme: The practices of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Textile Chain and in the Fashion Industry, the event is intended to integrate researchers, professors, students, professionals and companies with the purpose of spreading the positive impacts and discussing alternatives, innovations and solutions seeking to mitigate negative impacts caused by the Textile Chain and Fashion Industry.
Working groups
The working groups that are the options of choice for the surveys are divided into:
GT1 – Environment: In addition to presenting researches related to negative and positive impacts caused to the Environment, its objectives are to disseminate the best practices carried out by the Textile and Fashion Industry Chain and emphasize research that promotes the precepts of SDG 6 highlighted: improve the quality of water in water bodies by reducing pollution, eliminating waste and minimizing the release of hazardous materials and substances; reduce by half the proportion of untreated effluents and increase recycling and reuse.
It is important to develop research that highlights quantitative data on: wastewater treated safely; water bodies with good environmental quality.
GT2 – Society: Its objectives are, in addition to presenting research related to the negative and positive impacts caused to Society, to disseminate the best practices carried out by the Textile and Fashion Industry Chain and emphasize research that promotes the precepts of the SDG 8 highlighted: generation of decent work, formalization, growth of micro, small and medium enterprises, entrepreneurship and innovation; decoupling growth from environmental degradation; eradicate work in conditions analogous to slavery, human trafficking and child labor; respect for registration, working conditions, health and safety standards at work, with an emphasis on vulnerable workers.
It is important to develop research that highlights quantitative data on: workers in formal and informal activities, including gender equality and human rights;
GT3 – Economy: Its objectives, in addition to presenting research related to the negative and positive impacts caused to the Economy, disseminate the best practices carried out by the Textile Chain and Fashion Industry and emphasize research that promote the precepts of SDG 12 highlighted: through the Circular Economy and its actions for the prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse of waste; s; and
strengthen and encourage companies to adopt sustainable practices, companies and their technological capabilities aiming at sustainable production; integrate sustainability information; promote relevant information and awareness of sustainable consumption and lifestyles in harmony with nature;
It is important to produce surveys that highlight quantitative data regarding the rate of: national recycling; education for the development and advancement of sustainable technology, production and consumption.
