ABOUT US
Hecho por Nosotros (Made by US) is a non-profit NGO with consultative status at the United Nations that participates in the effort to achieve systemic change in the Creative economy – while collaborating on transforming the fashion and textile industry into a force for good and well-being for all. We believe this can be achieved by promoting and enhancing the Creative Economy for Sustainable Development as an ‘important tool for building a sustainable, inclusive, and equitable future’.
Animaná is a social enterprise, B Corp brand, and is the sister organisation of HechoporNosotros, with the purpose of giving the fashion industry a sustainable alternative that incorporates circularity and inclusivity throughout its value chain. We work very closely with communities and natural fibres of Patagonia and the Andes, combining ancestral techniques with contemporary design to create sustainable luxury products. For many years, we have been awarded as Best for the World title by B-Corp in two categories:changemakers & community.
For 15 years, we have been working on and researching topics, and gathering knowledge to create a space of collective, self-organised consciousness approach, in order to encourage the sensitivity, synchronicity and synthesis of co- creation. The topics we have been working on include: the use of techno tools and their sustainable integration in value chains; innovative techno in hands of Msme Coop, direct financing in order to reduce the financial gap in current society; traceability & transparency using blockchain; capacity building; direct financing, providing education; research on food, water and waste; and storytelling, among others.
Our consultative status with UN ECOSOC status at the United Nations has allowed us to address sustainable fashion at international forums, together with other change-makers of this field. The focus of our work at the UN is portraying how the fashion and textile industry can be considered a platform to advance the Agenda 2030 of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We seek to promote an ecosystem of circular and sustainable fashion through a collaboration among all stakeholders, aiming to bring education, technology, traceability, and transparency to artisans, producers, and SMEs while learning on circularity holistic models, regenerative practices and local wisdom
